Identity After Loss
Identity after loss is one of the most profound and disorienting parts of grief. You’re not just grieving a person or a season of life — you’re grieving the version of yourself who existed before everything changed.
Loss alters your routines, your confidence, your dreams, your relationships, your inner landscape. It causes you to question who you are without what you lost, and who you’re meant to be going forward.
This isn’t a process that happens all at once. It unfolds in small moments — in your choices, your voice, your stillness, your courage, and the way you begin moving through the world again.
These journal prompts guide you through:
remembering who you were
honoring who you are now
exploring the edges of who you’re becoming
understanding identity through movement, travel, and new environments
integrating grief into a new sense of self
They are gentle, grounding, and deeply reflective — designed to help you rediscover yourself with compassion and truth.
